Heroes. The show just keep getting better and better. I am a fan. My wife is not.

Luckily enough the series was renewed for a third season of 25 episodes and will air on Mondays at 9 p.m. The third season of “Heroes” will be kicking off in September. The show went back into production about two weeks ago.

What can you expect? I can give you a little bit of info.

The third season will be titled “Villains.” It will pick up immediately following the events of the second season. Because of the writers strike last season was cut pretty short. Actually, the producers of the show decided rather than start shooting more of the second season when the strike was over, they decided to just do a third season instead. The good news is in the third season viewers will learn what happens to several of the main characters.

Another thing you’ll learn about in the third season is the introduction of a new character. The new character is mysterious. She’s a little bit of a joker. And the most important thing is…well, she’s fast. Actually she’s VERY fast. The new character’s superpower allows her to operate at three speeds and leave a supersonic wake.

The character’s name is Daphne, played by actress Brea Grant. The speedy new character will deal more with time traveler Hiro and his sidekick, Ando. In speaking with an AP repoter in Los Angeles she had this to say, “I’m stealing a secret that’s been kept in Hiro’s family for a long time that he’s just now found. He stops time right as I grab it, but in that second it took him to grab it, I almost make it out of the office.”

Grant graduated from the University of Texas before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Last season, she played sassy high school student Jean on NBC’s “Friday Night Lights.” The 26-year-old actress’ short bleach-blond dreadlocked hairdo has become her signature. “Heroes” producers only trimmed her bangs for the role of Daphne.
