I never really followed the D.C. Madam situation. When it hit the news, I, like many, did check it out. But over time it died off my radar. It looked like as a woman who was serving a madam for the elite here in Washington. She made waves again before the case went to trial by attempting to sell pages of the book she had (it listed the people that had bought her services).

She was found guilty about two weeks ago and has been awaiting sentencing.

Unfortunately, Ms. Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the “D.C. Madam,” was found dead yesterday in Florida. The death is called a suicide. She was found hanged in a storage shed on her mother’s property. She had been living there and sadly, her 76-year-old mother found the body.

The police said they found handwritten notes that stated she was going to kill herself if she were looking at prison time. She faced a maximum 55-year prison term at her sentencing. It is believed that she would not have received the maximum.

She said the government “went after me. They found out that I’m not who they thought I was, and instead of dropping the whole matter they decided to press forward and, what the heck, she’s a woman, she’s weak, we’ll intimidate her, we’ll humiliate her, we’ll pounce on this poor lady and she’ll give in.”
