The 44th President of the United States will be determined in exactly one year from now. Whomever come out on top, history will be made. Whether it’s the first female president, the first black president, the first Italian-American president, the first hispanic president, or the first P.O.W. president; it will be a historic event
The Democratic side of the political coin looks more and more like New York Senator Hillary Clinton is going to receive the nomination. Most people believe this to be true; but keep in mind that during the 2004 presidential race former Vermont governor Howard Dean was a shoe-in…only to have Massaschuttes Senator John Kerry to receive the nomination. Anything is bound to occur in the next several months.
Senator Barack Obama has many qualities that could be vital in a presidential position. But to many democrats he still has a long way to go. Not long ago, a dirty little secret about Obama was revealed: He smokes cigarettes. Some people say this is old news, but it’s definitely news none the less. Being a smoker might not be that big of a deal, but many people don’t like a person who smokes. It’s assumed that smoking is viewed as a character weakness.
Even members of the Bush Administration have taken their jabs at Obama. They didn’t come right out and endorse Hillary, but its hard not to think otherwise. Brendan Nyham said Barack Obama was of “intellectual laziness.” He said that the freshman senator from Illinois was “capable” of the intellectual rigor needed to win the presidency but instead relies too heavily on his easy charm.
Whatever happens, its going to be a drag-out fight from here on to the White House with ALL political parties.
